Mona Salem is an assistant professor in the Architectural engineering department at Pharos University in Alexandria where she has been a faculty member since 2010, she completed her Ph.D. at Alexandria University. Her research interests lie in the area of architecture future, ranging from theory to design to implementation. She has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of science and technology, particularly nanotechnology, ecology and collaborative intelligence.
Mona has participated in several international conferences and workshops in Egypt, Greece, Italy, UK, Sweden, Lebanon and UAE. She also has several publications in highly internationally indexed journals. She also has designed many projects for different building types; residential, educational, medical, historic (heritage conservation) and scientific buildings, with special focus on residential buildings and studying the future of housing in Egypt.
