The Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in Egypt will celebrate excellence in real estate development and architecture, design visionaries and forward-thinking leaders in the international development arena, to join forces to showcase the pioneering projects that are raising the global industry bar.

About the Awards

The Awards offer international architects and leading real estate developers a prestigious platform from which to communicate a shared vision for the future, from culturally integrated city skylines to sustainable urban communities.

The Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in Egypt will present an unparalleled opportunity to network with key investors, architects and developers, as industry VIP’s converge upon Cairo to recognise the innovators and initiators behind some of the country’s most high profile projects.


 The 2017 Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in Egypt are now open for submissions and are FREE TO ENTER.

We invite submissions from international architects and leading real estate developers, with projects in Egypt markets across 13 categories split into Built and Future. Judged by a panel of industry experts, the awards showcase the pioneering projects that are raising the industry bar. 

Enter the 2017 Cityscape Awards for Real Estate today! All entries must be submitted before 5pm (EET) Thursday 9th February 2017.

Award Categories

Categories are separated into Built Projects (those with a minimum of one phase completed and operational within the last 3 years) and Future Projects (those commenced onsite but not yet completed).

Both developer and the architect will be recognised for their contribution to the winning projects in each of the following categories:


Commercial Project Award

Description: A building or complex of single commercial use

Examples: Office buildings, factories, warehouses, logistics and distribution facilities

Leisure & Hospitality Project Award

Description: A building or complex that provides a leisure and/or hospitality function(s)

Examples: Hotels, serviced apartments, sports & leisure facilities, restaurants

Community, Culture & Tourism Project Award

Description: A public building or complex for the arts or serving the community

Examples: Museums, visitor centres, educational facilities, hospitals, religious buildings, airports

Residential - Low Rise Project Award

Description: A residential development of a minimum of 10 units (G+4 and below)

Examples: Villa/townhouse complex, apartments, low rise towers (G+4 and below)

Residential - High Rise Project Award

Description: A residential development of a minimum of 10 units (G+5 and above)

Examples: Apartments, high rise towers (G+5 and above)

Retail Project Award

Description: A retail development with a minimum of 10 units

Examples: Malls, retail districts

Sustainability Project Award*

** Please note you can nominate your BUILT occupied project for the Sustainability Project Award in addition to ONE of the categories above.

MIXED USE PROJECT AWARD has been discontinued - the “predominant use” of the project will define the category selection.

** Please note projects can be entered into multiple award categories, however a separate submission form must be submitted for each award category entered.

How to Submit your project

All entries must be submitted before 5pm (EET) Thursday 9th February 2017

Individuals and companies who wish to submit nominations for the Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in Egypt must follow a simple Awards nomination process.

Steps to follow:

  1. Submit the online “Register your interest”
  2. Review the ''Submission Form Template''
  3. Complete the Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in Egypt Online Submission Form 

Each submission must contain the following:

  • Completed Online Submission Form 
  • Supporting project images are a mandatory requirement and should be submitted to a maximum size of 5MB. Images are instrumental in helping our judges to assess the entries, and therefore should be of high quality and include a mix of the project's location in the context of its surroundings, interior, exterior and a project site plan. We recommend sending a minimum of 1 of the following:
    • Up to 2 architectural plan
    • Up to 2 architectural cross section
    • Up to 3 onsite photos – (showing completed project for built categories and showing construction has started onsite for future categories)
    • Up to 2 rendering

Important note: Failure to provide all the information requested will result in your submission being automatically rejected.

What’s next?

Shortlisted entrants will be announced by Wednesday 8th March 2017. Shortlisted entrants will be required to send 3 high-resolution images that best represent the shortlisted project.

Eligibility Criteria

Real Estate developments that meet the eligibility criteria below may be entered to the Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in Egypt:

  • Projects are eligible to enter more than one category however a separate submission form must be submitted for each award category entered.
  • Submitted projects are required to demonstrate the highest level of excellence across 5 specified judgment criteria: Context, Design, Sustainability, Property & Facilities Management and Fulfilling the Brief (including projects entering the Sustainability Project Award).
  • Submitted projects can be entered to the “Built” project categories (for those already completed within the last 3 years) or “Future” projects for those under construction or ground clear for construction to begin.
  • Only projects in Egypt will be eligible for submission.
  • Architects are entitled to submit projects on behalf of the developer / owner, as long as their permission has been obtained.
  • An entrant may submit as many projects as desired as long as each entry is in full compliance with the eligibility criteria.
  • Individual units in commercial, retail and hospitality developments are not eligible for the Cityscape Awards. Only projects consisting of a minimum of 10 residential units are eligible to enter the Residential Project Award category.
  • Interior design projects are not eligible to enter the awards.

  • Winners will be announced at the Cityscape Awards Evening, attended by the most senior representatives of leading architects and developers.
  • Post awards, you will have the opportunity to use the Cityscape Seal of Distinction on your marketing and promotional materials

Judging Process

Our independent panel of International experts will take a holistic approach to judging the submitted projects based on a range of criteria covering the Full Development Process, including Context, Design, Sustainability, Management and Fulfilling the Brief of the project.

All submitted entries will be reviewed individually by the panel of judges and will form the basis for the shortlisted projects which are to be announced on 8 March 2017

Cityscape Awards Ceremony

Winners will be announced at a glamorous Awards Ceremony at the Cityscape Awards Evening held on 28 March 2017 at the Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski Cairo.


We recognise and respect the sensitive nature of the information submitted in the entries. Entries are not disclosed or discussed outside the judging process. We do not publish the names of companies, organisations or individuals that have not won an Award, nor will we reproduce any information from your entry. Therefore, if you enter the Awards, but are not successful, this will remain confidential.

In addition, entrants may mark any commercially sensitive information contained in their entry as 'not for publication'.

The organisers reserve the right to use information contained in the winning entries (apart from contact details and any content marked not for publication) for subsequent publicity, promotions and other activities relating to the Awards.

Awards Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern the submission of your entry into, and the operation of, the Awards.

  • All Award nominations must:
    • relate to the following subject matter: Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in Egypt;
    • comply with the stated eligibility criteria. Please note that Informa may reject or disregard any Award nomination, at the point of or after submission, if Informa: (i) determines in its absolute discretion that acceptance of the nomination into the Awards is in any way inappropriate, or (ii) is required by any applicable law or instructed by any financial institution to cease trading (a) with certain individuals and/or entities, and/or (b) in, or in relation to, certain geographical locations;
    • be submitted through the Cityscape Real Estate Awards online submission;
    • be in English and be received before 5pm (EET) Thursday 9th February 2017;
    • be clearly and succinctly written, and remain within any submission guidelines issued by Informa in respect of the Awards;
    • deal in grounded and supported statements, preferably with supporting facts and figures.
  • Only projects based in Egypt are eligible for submission
  • There are 13 Award categories. Entrants may participate in multiple Award categories, but a separate nomination entry must be submitted for each Award category entered.
  • Informa shall have the right to verify the content of any Award nomination received. Without prejudice to the foregoing, Informa is entitled to accept all Award nominations in good faith and treat the same as true and accurate.
  • Submission of an Award nomination indicates acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  • In the event of any disputes or issues, the decision made by the Award judges is final. Informa shall not be obliged to justify the outcomes of the Awards or any other decisions made in relation to the Awards, nor enter into any correspondence in respect of the same.
  • In submitting an Award nomination, you authorise the use and/or reproduction by Informa of images and information provided in your submission in relation to any editorial/advertising/marketing/other purposes initiated by Informa in conjunction with the Awards. To the extent that your Award submission contains commercially sensitive information, please clearly mark such information as ‘not for publication’ and bring the same expressly to Informa’s attention.
  • Nothing in these terms and conditions limits Informa’s liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to the foregoing, Informa shall have no liability to you with respect to the Awards, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), for breach of statutory duty or otherwise. Without limitation, Informa hereby expressly excludes any liability in relation to (i) loss of profits, (ii) loss of or damage to goodwill, and (iii) loss of use or corruption of software, data or information.
  • Informa may modify these terms and conditions at any time in its absolute discretion. You are advised to review these terms and conditions regularly, as they may be updated from time to time (both during the specific open period of an Awards submission and in-between the various series of Awards operated by Informa). Changes shall not apply retrospectively to Award nominations received prior to such changes being made (unless legally required). In relation to each Award nomination submitted, you agree to be bound by whichever version of the terms and conditions is in force at the relevant time of such submission.
